Ascott secures management contract for serviced residence in Gurgaon

The Ascott has secured a contract in Gurgaon to manage its first Somerset-branded serviced residence in the region.

The Somerset Diplomatic Greens Gurgaon will have 174 units, scheduled to open by 2019. It will be Ascott’s second serviced residence in the city, following Ascott Ireo City Gurgaon due to open in 2017.

Somerset Diplomatic Greens Gurgaon’s management contract was granted by Puri Constructions who focuses on Northern India real estate development.

The Ascott chief corporate officer who is overseeing the company’s business in India, Tony Soh claimed of viewing strong growth potential for Ascott in India. This is as delivering the Somerset brand to Gurgaon through partnership with Puri Constructions will increase Ascott’s footprint in India to over 1,400 apartment units in eight serviced residences across five cities.

Ascott’s strategy for India is to grow in high-growth cities with substantial demand for international-class serviced residences from business travellers, project teams and expatriates.

Gurgaon is a rapidly developing city where a large number of construction, manufacturing and IT companies are based. Therefore there is confidence that the Somerset brand will do well in the region.

To further expand Ascott’s network in India, opportunities will be continued to be sought for management contracts, franchise agreements or investments. Alongside Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Gurgaon where presence has already been established for Ascott, opportunities are also being sought in significant business cities such as Mumbai, Pune and New Delhi.

Situated within a 30 minute drive from New Delhi’s international airport, Somerset Diplomatic Greens Gurgaon is to be the closest serviced residence to the airport.

The director of Puri Constructions, Arjun Puri expressed delight to have The Ascott Limited manage their first serviced residence of Diplomatic Greens as they believe Ascott’s service is world renowned.

They claim this is ideal for Puri Constructions, which built its reputation upon providing uncompromising quality.

Strategically situated next to Dwarka Expressway, Somerset Diplomatic Greens Gurgaon is nestled in between seven acres of expansive green landscaping, in the centre of Gurgaon.

The serviced residence will be based next to the retail zone and entertainment hub within the 20-acre residential area of Diplomatic Greens development.
